Update: The Fleur de Lehigh is currently ON TAP. We’re featuring it for our Late Night Happy Hour – starting Thursday
We put Fleur de Lehigh on tap a few weeks ago and it’s now one of our favorites. So we decided to hit up Philadelphia Brewing Co. owner Nancy Barton and ask her a few questions about the brew…
SqrPg: How would you describe the Fleur de Lehigh?
Nancy: The Fleur de Lehigh is a beer that celebrates spring (and it’s great in the summer!). We brew it with different herbs – including ginger, lemongrass and rose hips. If people like ginger then they’ll love the Fleur.
SqrPg: Love the name of the beer, what’s the inspiration? Lehigh Avenue?
Nancy: The inspiration was the old Shibe Park/Connie Mac Stadium that used to be up Lehigh Ave. The Phillies used to play there. It was a beautiful old baseball stadium.
SqrPg: Who would be your perfect Philadelphia spokesperson for this beer? (say, if you were to do a commercial – can be dead or alive)
Nancy: Hmm…this ones hard. Maybe Grace Kelly. She was from Philadelphia and we like to keep it local!
So there you have it. Ginger, Connie Mac Stadium, and Grace Kelly – make a great tasting warm weather beer.
